Mediterranean cooking is right for young and old, those who wish to shed extra pounds, and anyone interested in eating delicious guilt-free foods.
What some call the “Mediterranean diet” may be more appropriately named the Mediterranean Health-style – commonly known as the healthiest diet in the world. To the people of the region, the way they eat, drink, relax, and work are all just a way of life. No calorie counting, or strict rules, this style of eating focuses on whole, natural ingredients, and the joy of sharing meals together with loved ones.
In this class we will explore which cuisines fall into Mediterranean-style cooking, as we learn to make a variety of dishes from several different countries:
- Honey-baked Peaches & Grapes with sweet ricotta,
- Baked Salmon with Tabbouleh, along with other colorful, flavorful dishes such as vibrant green
- Spinach & Yogurt Flatbreads with Greek Bean Salad,
- a savory Lamb, Spinach & Feta Pie,
- Green Barley Salad, and
- Strawberry Yogurt Cake.
