Irish Soda Bread

 

A moist but heavy bread.  Great toasted!

3 – 3/4 cups freshly milled flour *
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1-2 Tbs. honey
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Mix well and knead slightly.  Shape into a round about 1-1 1/2″ thick.  Slash  X across top.

Bake on greased cookie sheet or pie pan at 375F until done (about 45 minutes).

* Red or white wheat flour will work
